Now you can build your own sundial from a cardboard flat pack. This cardboard assembly kit allows you to create a beautiful and fully functioning scientific instrument.
It took us about three hours to assemble from scratch, so you'll need some time, a couple of tools and careful fingers, but we think the reward is worth it.
Once it's complete, find yourself a sunny spot and set the latitude on the outer ring and the date on the central slider then open the inner ring by 90° and turn the sundial until a beam of light strikes the ring and tells you the time.
